Since the enforcement of the new MARPOL 73/78, ANNEX VI, Regulation 18
requirements, as of May 19th 2005, it has come to our attention that
frequently the labels affixed on the sampling bottles are not properly
filled out. For example, the seals numbers are not listed as specified
or the bunkering port is not listed. We strongly advise that you alert the crews of your vessels to pay extra attention and take the time required to properly fill out the labels provided as this is also part of the Annex VI set of obligations. In addition they should forward for analysis the sample bearing the seal number listed as destined for the laboratory. For your guidance we attach a properly filled out label as example.
